They’re ideal for parties, game days, or any time you crave a mini trip down memory lane.
Ingredients
- Slider Buns: Choose your favorite style (classic, Hawaiian, or pretzel) for a soft, buttery base.
- Corned Beef or Pastrami: About ½ pound of thinly sliced deli meat; pastrami offers a smokier, spicier alternative.
- Sauerkraut: Approximately 1 cup, well-drained to prevent sogginess.
- Thousand Island Dressing: Roughly ½ cup, homemade or store-bought, for that signature creamy tang.
- Swiss Cheese: 8–12 slices, ensuring a generous, melty layer.
- Melted Butter: For brushing the tops of the buns, lending a golden, toasty finish.
Instructions
-
Preheat & Prepare:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
-
Assemble the Sliders:
- Slice the slider buns in half. Arrange the bottom halves evenly in the prepared dish.
- Layer a generous portion of corned beef (or pastrami) over the buns.
- Evenly distribute the drained sauerkraut atop the meat.
- Place Swiss cheese slices over the sauerkraut.
-
Dress & Top:
- Spread Thousand Island dressing on the inside of the top halves of the buns.
- Place the dressed halves over the layered fillings.
- Brush the tops lightly with melted butter to help create a crisp, golden crust.
-
Bake:
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 15 minutes.
- Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 5 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and the tops are nicely crisped.
-
Serve:
- Allow the sliders to cool for a few minutes before serving.
- Optionally, serve with extra Thousand Island dressing or a side of spicy mustard for dipping.
Notes
- Drain the Sauerkraut Thoroughly: Make sure your sauerkraut is well-drained to avoid any sogginess in your sliders.
- Preheat the Oven: Ensure your oven is fully preheated to 350°F before you begin baking for even cooking.
- Toast the Bun Bottoms (Optional): For extra crispiness, you can lightly toast the bottom halves of the buns for 3–5 minutes before assembling.
