Ingredients

  • 2 cups vanilla pudding mix
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pound angel food cake, cut into cubes
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 2 cups fresh blueberries
  • 2 cups whipped cream (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate shavings (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the vanilla pudding mix, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth and thickened, about 2 minutes. Let it sit for 5 minutes to set further.
  2. In a large trifle dish or a glass bowl, layer half of the angel food cake cubes on the bottom.
  3. Spoon half of the vanilla pudding mixture over the cake cubes, spreading it evenly.
  4. Add half of the sliced strawberries and half of the blueberries on top of the pudding layer.
  5. Spread half of the whipped cream over the fruit layer, smoothing it out gently.
  6. Repeat the layers with the remaining angel food cake, pudding, strawberries, blueberries, and whipped cream.
  7. If desired, sprinkle chocolate shavings on top for added decoration.
  8. Cover the trifle with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes
