Scoop of Heaven Trifle is a delightful dessert featuring layers of vanilla pudding, angel food cake, mixed berries, and whipped cream, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 2 cups vanilla pudding mix
- 4 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 pound angel food cake, cut into cubes
- 2 cups mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
- 1 cup whipped cream (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup mini marshmallows
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the vanilla pudding mix, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Let it sit for about 5 minutes to thicken.
- In a large trifle dish or a glass bowl, layer half of the angel food cake cubes on the bottom.
- Spoon half of the vanilla pudding mixture over the cake cubes, spreading it evenly.
- Add half of the mixed berries on top of the pudding layer.
- Sprinkle half of the mini marshmallows and chopped nuts (if using) over the berries.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining angel food cake, pudding, mixed berries, mini marshmallows, and nuts.
- Top the trifle with whipped cream, spreading it evenly across the top.
- Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
Notes
- For a chocolate twist, substitute chocolate pudding for vanilla and add chocolate shavings on top.
- You can also use a mix of different fruits like peaches and bananas for a tropical variation.
