This Seafood Lasagna is a luxurious, creamy dish packed with layers of tender seafood, cheesy goodness, and fresh lasagna noodles. Perfect for special occasions or indulgent dinners at home!
Ingredients
Cheese Sauce Filling:
- 2 tbsp butter (for the roux)
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour (to thicken the sauce)
- 2 cups milk (use whole milk for creaminess)
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (freshly grated for best flavor)
- ½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
Lasagna Layers:
- 10 oz ricotta cheese (for a creamy texture)
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese (for filling and topping)
- 1 large egg (whisked, to bind the cheese mixture)
- 1 tsp dried parsley (for added flavor)
- 1 lb seafood mix (shrimp, scallops, crab, or your choice)
- 1 tsp olive oil (for cooking the seafood)
- ½ lb fresh lasagna noodles (or pre-cooked noodles)
- Salt and pepper (to season the seafood)
Instructions
- Prepare the Cheese Sauce
- Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
- Whisk in the flour, cooking for 1–2 minutes to form a smooth roux.
- Gradually add milk, whisking to prevent lumps, and stir until the sauce thickens.
- Remove from heat and stir in Parmesan cheese and salt. Set aside.
- Mix the Cheese Filling
- In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, shredded mozzarella, whisked egg, dried parsley, and salt.
- Stir until smooth and creamy.
- Cook the Seafood
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add the seafood mix, season with salt, pepper, and parsley.
- Cook for 3–5 minutes until just cooked through.
- Assemble the Lasagna
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Spread a thin layer of cheese sauce on the bottom of a greased baking dish.
- Layer lasagna noodles over the sauce, followed by a layer of ricotta mixture and a layer of seafood.
- Repeat layers, ending with cheese sauce.
- Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Bake the Lasagna
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for another 10–15 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
- Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
