Description

This Seafood Lasagna is a luxurious, creamy dish packed with layers of tender seafood, cheesy goodness, and fresh lasagna noodles. Perfect for special occasions or indulgent dinners at home!

Ingredients

Cheese Sauce Filling:

  • 2 tbsp butter (for the roux)
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour (to thicken the sauce)
  • 2 cups milk (use whole milk for creaminess)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (freshly grated for best flavor)
  • ½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)

Lasagna Layers:

  • 10 oz ricotta cheese (for a creamy texture)
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese (for filling and topping)
  • 1 large egg (whisked, to bind the cheese mixture)
  • 1 tsp dried parsley (for added flavor)
  • 1 lb seafood mix (shrimp, scallops, crab, or your choice)
  • 1 tsp olive oil (for cooking the seafood)
  • ½ lb fresh lasagna noodles (or pre-cooked noodles)
  • Salt and pepper (to season the seafood)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cheese Sauce
    • Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
    • Whisk in the flour, cooking for 1–2 minutes to form a smooth roux.
    • Gradually add milk, whisking to prevent lumps, and stir until the sauce thickens.
    • Remove from heat and stir in Parmesan cheese and salt. Set aside.
  2. Mix the Cheese Filling
    • In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, shredded mozzarella, whisked egg, dried parsley, and salt.
    • Stir until smooth and creamy.
  3. Cook the Seafood
    • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
    • Add the seafood mix, season with salt, pepper, and parsley.
    • Cook for 3–5 minutes until just cooked through.
  4. Assemble the Lasagna
    • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Spread a thin layer of cheese sauce on the bottom of a greased baking dish.
    • Layer lasagna noodles over the sauce, followed by a layer of ricotta mixture and a layer of seafood.
    • Repeat layers, ending with cheese sauce.
    • Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  5. Bake the Lasagna
    • Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
    • Remove the foil and bake for another 10–15 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
    • Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Use fresh seafood for the best flavor and texture.
  • Pat seafood dry before cooking to prevent excess liquid in the lasagna.
  • Let the lasagna rest after baking for easier slicing and enhanced flavor.
