Description
Sticky Honey Garlic Chicken is a quick and delicious one-pan dinner that can be prepared in just 30 minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Season the chicken thighs with black pepper and add them to the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in the honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, ground ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir well to combine and bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Return the chicken to the skillet, coating it well with the sauce. Let it simmer for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and become sticky.
- Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
- For added flavor, marinate the chicken in the honey-soy mixture for 30 minutes before cooking.
- Serve the sticky honey garlic chicken over steamed rice or quinoa for a complete meal. You can also add steamed broccoli or snap peas for extra veggies.
