Description

A delicious and indulgent breakfast treat featuring thick slices of bread stuffed with a creamy strawberry cheesecake filling, cooked to golden perfection.

Ingredients

  • 8 slices of thick bread (such as brioche or Texas toast)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Maple syrup, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. Gently fold in the sliced strawberries. Set aside.
  2. In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, and ground cinnamon until well combined.
  3. Take four slices of bread and spread a generous amount of the strawberry cheesecake mixture on each slice. Top with the remaining four slices to create sandwiches.
  4. Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat and add the butter. Once melted, dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are well coated.
  5. Place the coated sandwiches in the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Remove from the skillet and serve warm, drizzled with maple syrup.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use flavored cream cheese, such as strawberry or vanilla.
  • Add a sprinkle of crushed graham crackers on top before serving for a cheesecake crust effect.
