Ingredients

For the Dough and Seasoning:

  • 1 lb pizza dough
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

For the Fillings:

  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated (divided)
  • 12 slices mozzarella cheese (8 oz)
  • 12 slices provolone cheese (8 oz)
  • lb ham or prosciutto
  • lb pepperoni (deli style)
  • lb salami
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

Extras:

  • 1 egg white + 1 tablespoon water (egg wash)
  • Marinara or pizza sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 400°F.
    • Place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to preheat for a crispier crust.
  2. Roll Out the Dough:
    • On a floured surface, roll the pizza dough into a large rectangle (approximately 18″x12″).
    • Ensure even thickness for consistent baking.
  3. Season the Dough:
    • Brush olive oil evenly over the dough.
    • Sprinkle garlic powder, Italian seasoning, crushed red pepper flakes, and ¼ cup Parmesan cheese across the surface.
  4. Layer the Fillings:
    • Start with overlapping slices of ham, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
    • Add a layer of mozzarella slices, followed by pepperoni, provolone, and salami.
    • Sprinkle dried oregano over the fillings for extra flavor.
  5. Roll the Stromboli:
    • Starting from the long edge closest to you, tightly roll the dough over the fillings.
    • Pinch the seams and tuck in the ends to seal the roll completely.
  6. Prepare for Baking:
    • Transfer the Stromboli seam-side down onto a sheet of parchment paper.
    • Brush with egg wash (mix 1 egg white and 1 tablespoon water).
    • Cut 3–4 small slits on top to release steam.
    • Sprinkle the remaining Parmesan cheese over the top.
  7. Bake:
    • Place the Stromboli on the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet.
    • Bake for 25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Rest and Serve:
    • Let the Stromboli cool for 10–15 minutes to set the fillings.
    • Slice into 1–2 inch pieces and serve with warm marinara or pizza sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • Refrigerate the dough if it becomes too warm or sticky while working.
  • Avoid overfilling to prevent leaks during baking.
  • Assemble Stromboli ahead of time and refrigerate unbaked for up to 24 hours.
