Ingredients

  • 4 yellow potatoes
  • 60g panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 30g Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 50g olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven

    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with oil.
  2. Prepare the Potatoes

    • Wash the potatoes thoroughly under running water.
    • Skewer each potato lengthwise using a wooden skewer.
    • Carefully cut each potato into a spiral shape by rotating it slowly and slicing continuously with a sharp knife. Ensure you don’t cut all the way through.
  3. Season the Potatoes

    • Mix panko breadcrumbs, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and Parmesan cheese in a small bowl.
    • Combine olive oil and minced garlic in another bowl.
    • Brush each potato spiral generously with the garlic olive oil, ensuring the oil gets between the cuts.
    • Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the potatoes, pressing lightly to help the coating stick.
  4. Bake the Potatoes

    • Place the seasoned potatoes on the prepared baking sheet.
    • Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until golden brown, crispy, and tender.
  5. Serve and Garnish

    • Remove the potatoes from the oven and let them cool slightly.
    • Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
    • Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces, such as ranch, aioli, or spicy ketchup.

Notes

  • Use medium-sized yellow potatoes for the best results.
  • To make slicing easier, start with firm, fresh potatoes and a sharp knife.
  • If you prefer extra crispiness, bake the potatoes a few minutes longer but watch closely to avoid burning.
