Ultimate Pizza Tot Casserole is a delicious and easy-to-make family dinner that combines the flavors of pizza with crispy tater tots.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (15-ounce) can pizza sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 (32-ounce) bag frozen tater tots
  • 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, onion, bell pepper, and garlic until the beef is browned and the vegetables are tender, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Stir in the pizza sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Let the mixture simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  4. In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, spread the beef and vegetable mixture evenly across the bottom.
  5. Sprinkle 1 cup of mozzarella cheese over the beef mixture.
  6. Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer on top of the cheese.
  7. Top the tater tots with the remaining mozzarella cheese and sliced pepperoni.
  8. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the top.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
  10. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired before serving.
