Description
A creamy and rich White Bolognese Sauce made with ground beef and pork, perfect for pasta dishes.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 carrot, finely chopped
- 1 celery stalk, finely chopped
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup dry white wine
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large skillet or saucepan, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, garlic, carrot, and celery. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are softened and fragrant.
- Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef and ground pork. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 8-10 minutes.
- Pour in the white wine and let it simmer for about 5 minutes, allowing the alcohol to evaporate.
- Reduce the heat to low and stir in the milk, oregano, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg. Let the sauce simmer gently for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Once the sauce has thickened, stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and well combined.
- Serve the sauce over your favorite pasta, garnished with fresh parsley.
Notes
- For a creamier sauce, you can add an additional 1/2 cup of heavy cream during the last few minutes of cooking.
- Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version of the sauce.
