Description

A creamy and rich White Bolognese Sauce made with ground beef and pork, perfect for pasta dishes.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 carrot, finely chopped
  • 1 celery stalk, finely chopped
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup dry white wine
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet or saucepan, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, garlic, carrot, and celery. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are softened and fragrant.
  2. Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef and ground pork. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 8-10 minutes.
  3. Pour in the white wine and let it simmer for about 5 minutes, allowing the alcohol to evaporate.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the milk, oregano, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg. Let the sauce simmer gently for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Once the sauce has thickened, stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and well combined.
  6. Serve the sauce over your favorite pasta, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For a creamier sauce, you can add an additional 1/2 cup of heavy cream during the last few minutes of cooking.
  • Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version of the sauce.
