  • 12 slices Sliced Deli Ham Any thin deli meat like turkey or chicken can substitute.
  • 2 cups Gruyère Cheese Grated, Emmental cheese is a great alternative.
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Chives Chopped, green onions can be used for a similar taste.

Equipment

  • Baking dish
  • Whisk
  • Medium Bowl
  • Oven

Method

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the whole grain mustard, mayonnaise, sour cream, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, and maple syrup until smooth. Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare your baking dish by greasing or lining it with parchment paper.
  3. Carefully slice each butter croissant in half lengthwise and crosswise. Spread a layer of the prepared maple mustard dressing on the bottom half. Layer on the sliced deli ham, followed by grated Gruyère cheese and chopped chives, then place the top half back onto the filling.
  4. Arrange the assembled croissants in the prepared baking dish and cover with aluminum foil. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
  5. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 2-4 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and the tops are golden brown.
  6. Remove from the oven and let the croissants cool for a couple of minutes. Garnish with extra chopped chives and serve warm alongside remaining maple mustard dressing.
