Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Marinate the Beef: In a large mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil. Stir until well mixed. Add the ground beef or bulgogi beef to the marinade and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  2. Form the Patties: Remove the beef from the fridge, divide into equal portions, and form into burger patties, about ¾ inch thick.
  3. Preheat the Grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, around 375°F (190°C), and lightly oil the grates.
  4. Grill the Patties: Cook patties for 5-7 minutes on one side, flip, and grill for another 5-7 minutes until desired doneness.
  5. Toast the Buns: Slice burger buns and place cut-side down on the grill for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Assemble the Burgers: Start with kimchi on the bottom half of each bun, add a patty, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and finish with the top bun.
  7. Serve Immediately: Serve warm and enjoy with sides like sweet potato fries or cucumber salad.
