Ingredients

For the Cookie Dough
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour Provides structure and stability to the cookies; no substitutions recommended.
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda Acts as a leavening agent for lightness; ensure it’s fresh for optimal results.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt Enhances flavor and balances sweetness; opt for sea salt for a nuanced taste.
  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter Adds moisture and richness; can substitute with margarine or a dairy-free alternative.
  • 1/2 cup White Sugar Sweetens the cookies; brown sugar can be used entirely or in half for added moisture.
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar Contributes to chewiness and depth of flavor; pack it tightly into the measuring cup.
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract Infuses a warm, aromatic flavor; use pure vanilla for the best taste.
  • 1 large Eggs Binds the ingredients and adds moisture; one egg can be replaced with a flax egg for a vegan option.
For the S'mores Layer
  • 1 cup Crushed Graham Crackers Adds texture and the signature s'mores flavor; substitute with crushed digestive biscuits if unavailable.
  • 1 cup Chocolate Chips Provides melty chocolate bursts; semi-sweet or dark chocolate work best.
  • 1 cup Mini Marshmallows Adds gooey sweetness and texture; if using large marshmallows, cut them into smaller pieces.
  • 2 bars Chocolate Bars (Hershey's) Enhances the chocolate flavor on top; adjust sweetness to your liking.

Step‑by‑Step Instructions for S’mores Cookies
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a cookie sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Whisk these ingredients together until they are evenly blended.
  3. In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter, white sugar, and brown sugar using an electric mixer until smooth and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture and beat together until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips, half of the mini marshmallows, and the crushed graham crackers into your dough.
  6. Using a cookie scoop, drop portions of the dough onto your prepared cookie sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Place the cookie sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 8-12 minutes until edges are golden brown.
  8. As soon as the cookies come out of the oven, press the remaining mini marshmallows and chopped chocolate bars into the tops.
  9. Once your cookies have cooled on the sheet for about 5 minutes, transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
