- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef and onion until cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add minced garlic, salt, dried basil, and dried parsley to the meat mixture. Cook for an additional minute.
- Transfer the mixture to a slow cooker. Add diced tomatoes, pasta sauce, and broth. Stir until combined.
- Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours.
- About 15 minutes before serving, stir in the uncooked ziti, cover and cook until pasta is tender.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and ricotta on top, cover, and cook until melted.
- Serve warm with a side salad and garlic bread.
