Ingredients

For the Dough
  • 1 can Crescent roll dough Use homemade pastry dough for a flakier texture.
For the Filling
  • 8 oz Cream cheese Ensure cream cheese is softened for easy mixing.
  • 1/4 cup Powdered sugar Use granulated sugar as a substitution, but it may not blend as smoothly.
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract Almond extract can change the flavor beautifully.
  • 1/2 cup Whole berry cranberry sauce Fresh cranberries simmered with sugar for a fresher version will work well.
Optional Toppings
  • 1/4 cup Chopped pecans Walnuts or pistachios also work well for added texture.
  • 1 tsp Orange zest

Equipment

  • Mini muffin tin
  • Mixing bowl
  • hand mixer

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease the mini muffin tin or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  3. Unroll the crescent roll dough and cut each triangle in half. Press each piece into the greased muffin tin to create little cups.
  4. Spoon approximately 1 teaspoon of the creamy filling into each cup, followed by another teaspoon of cranberry sauce on top.
  5. Optionally, sprinkle chopped pecans or a pinch of orange zest on top of the cranberry sauce.
  6. Bake for 11-13 minutes until edges are golden brown and filling is slightly set. Watch closely to avoid overbaking.
  7. Allow to cool slightly for about 5 minutes before serving warm.
