Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt 4 tablespoons of butter. Whisk in 4 tablespoons of flour, stirring continuously for about 2 minutes. Gradually add in 3 cups of milk, stirring until the béchamel thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add lasagna noodles and cook according to package instructions, usually about 8-10 minutes, until al dente. Drain and lay them flat on a kitchen towel.
- In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a layer of béchamel. Layer 3-4 lasagna noodles, a layer of béchamel, ricotta cheese, and your choice of fillings. Repeat layers, ending with béchamel sauce and top with mozzarella and Parmesan.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Let lasagna rest for about 10 minutes before serving.
