Method
 

Step‑by‑Step Instructions for Egg Geodes
  1. Start by cleaning your eggshells in warm, soapy water, rinse well, and let dry for about an hour.
  2. Boil water until steaming, pour in 1 cup of hot water, then stir in 3 tablespoons of borax until dissolved.
  3. Add food coloring to the borax solution and stir gently until the color is evenly distributed.
  4. Pour the colorful borax solution into each eggshell half, filling them about three-quarters full.
  5. Place the filled eggshells in a dry area and let them sit undisturbed for at least 24 hours.
  6. After 24 hours, crack away the eggshells, rinse the geodes, and let them dry completely.
