Ingredients

For the Pizza Base
  • 14-16 oz Pizza Dough Use homemade for extra flavor, or store-bought for convenience.
For the Sauce
  • ⅔ to ¾ cup Super-Easy Marinara Sauce A classic choice; store-bought pizza sauce can save time and effort.
For the Toppings
  • Whole-Milk String Cheese Essential for creating that spooky spider web; part-skim can be a lower fat substitute.
  • Large Pitted Black Olives Perfect for crafting creepy spider bodies; green olives can provide a fun twist!

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Pizza stone or baking sheet
  • knife
  • Baking spatula

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to a sizzling 500°F (260°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven during preheating.
  2. Slice the whole-milk string cheese into thin, even strips and halve the large pitted black olives lengthwise, reserving eight halves for spider bodies.
  3. Roll out the pizza dough into a 12-14 inch circle on a floured surface, pricking the surface gently with a fork.
  4. Spread ⅔ to ¾ cup of super-easy marinara sauce over the dough, leaving a ½ inch border around the edges.
  5. Transfer the pizza base to the preheated oven and bake for 3-5 minutes until the crust is light golden.
  6. Remove the pizza and arrange the strips of string cheese in a web pattern, then place the reserved olive halves in the center as spiders.
  7. Return the decorated pizza to the oven for another 3-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Allow the pizza to cool for a couple of minutes on a wire rack, slice into wedges, and serve warm.
