Ingredients

For the Gnocchi
  • 1 package Skillet Gnocchi Opt for skillet gnocchi to skip the boiling step for quicker preparation.
For Frying
  • 3 tablespoons Butter You can use olive oil for a lighter alternative.
  • 3 cloves Garlic Fresh garlic is recommended for the best taste; minced works too if you're in a pinch.
  • 1 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes Feel free to omit them for a milder experience, or swap in black pepper if desired.
For the Finish
  • 1 cup Parmesan Cheese Nutritional yeast is a great vegan substitute, or try pecorino for another twist.
  • 1 bunch Fresh Basil or Parsley You can use other herbs like thyme or chives depending on what you have on hand.

Equipment

  • Skillet

Method

Instructions
  1. In a medium or large skillet, melt 3 tablespoons of butter over medium heat until it foams and gives off a nutty aroma.
  2. Add minced garlic and a pinch of red pepper flakes to the skillet. Sauté for about 30 seconds until the garlic becomes fragrant but not browned. Remove the garlic.
  3. Add the gnocchi directly into the skillet, spread them out evenly, and increase the heat to high. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
  4. Once the gnocchi are golden brown, return the sautéed garlic to the pan and sprinkle in half of the grated Parmesan cheese. Toss to coat.
  5. Remove the skillet from heat, transfer the gnocchi onto plates or a serving dish, and finish with the remaining Parmesan cheese and fresh herbs.
