  • 2 tablespoons Red Food Coloring gel coloring preferred
  • 1 tablespoon Vinegar apple cider vinegar is a great alternative
  • 1 cup White Chocolate Chips optional
For the Cream Cheese Frosting
  • 8 ounces Cream Cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup Butter softened
  • 2 cups Powdered Sugar to taste for desired sweetness
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract can use another extract

Method
 

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cocoa powder.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing gently until just combined, then fold in the food coloring and vinegar.
  6. Drop generous portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set and center is slightly underbaked.
  8. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  9. While cooling, beat together the cream cheese and butter for the frosting until smooth, then add powdered sugar and vanilla.
  10. Once cookies are completely cool, frost each with the cream cheese frosting.
