Step-by-Step Instructions for Apple Gouda Walnut Salad
  1. Start by washing 2-3 Braeburn apples under cool running water. Core and slice them thinly or cube them as desired. Arrange the slices in a bowl to prevent browning.
  2. Slice a small red onion thinly and soak the slices in cold water for about 10 minutes to soften the bite. After soaking, drain and blot lightly with a paper towel, then mince.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine mixed greens, sliced apples, and minced red onion. Add cubed gouda cheese and roughly chopped walnuts. Gently toss to combine.
  4. Just before serving, drizzle with white wine vinaigrette and mix gently to coat the ingredients without wilting the greens.
  5. Transfer the salad to a serving plate or individual bowls. Garnish with extra walnuts or apple slices if desired. Serve immediately.
