Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x5 inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together egg, buttermilk, melted butter, and almond extract.
  4. Pour wet mixture into dry ingredients and fold until just combined; do not overmix.
  5. Gently fold in 1/2 cup of sprinkles, saving some for topping.
  6. Transfer batter to loaf pan, smoothing the top, and bake for 45-50 minutes.
  7. Cool in pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely for 1-2 hours.
  8. In a bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, buttermilk, and light corn syrup for the glaze.
  9. Once bread is cool, pour glaze over the top and sprinkle with reserved nonpareils.
