Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream together 1 cup of softened butter, ½ cup of granulated sugar, and ½ cup of powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in 1 egg and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together 2 ½ cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and ½ teaspoon of salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet dough, mixing until just combined.
  5. Wrap the prepared dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  6. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface to about ¼-inch thickness.
  7. Cut out bunny shapes using cookie cutters and place on a lined baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 7 to 10 minutes until lightly golden, then cool on a wire rack.
  9. Melt candy melts in bowls, dip each cookie into the melted candy, and sprinkle with nonpareils before coating sets.
