Step-by-Step Instructions

  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together salted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar for 2-3 minutes until fluffy.
  3. Beat in one egg yolk and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Gradually mix in the all-purpose flour and baking powder until just combined.
  5. Spread the dough evenly into the prepared pan.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden at the edges and firm in the center.
  7. Allow the bars to cool completely on a wire rack for about 30 minutes.
  8. Prepare the buttercream frosting by beating unsalted butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar and heavy cream until fluffy.
  9. Optional: Mix in food coloring to the frosting if desired.
  10. Once cooled, frost the bars evenly with the buttercream.
  11. Crush Cadbury Mini Eggs and sprinkle over the frosted surface of the cookie bars.
  12. Cut into squares or rectangles and serve.
