Filling
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil can substitute with vegetable oil
  • 1 pound Ground Beef or use turkey for a lighter option
  • 1 pound Sausage omit for a beefier pie or use plant-based sausage
  • to taste Salt & Pepper essential seasonings
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder swap for fresh garlic if desired
  • 1 tablespoon Italian Seasoning or use individual herbs
  • 1 cup Pizza Sauce store-bought or homemade, avoid overloading
  • 2 cups Mozzarella Cheese can use provolone or cheddar
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese grated or shredded
  • to taste Pepperoni or swap for other cured meats
  • to taste Fresh Parsley optional garnish

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Press pie dough into a deep-dish pan, prick holes, and pre-bake for 10 minutes until golden.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, warm olive oil, add ground beef and sausage, cook for 8-10 minutes, seasoning with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
  3. Drain excess grease, stir the meat mixture, and set aside to cool slightly.
  4. Spread pizza sauce over the pre-baked crust, layer half of the mozzarella cheese, spoon the meat mixture, then add another layer of sauce and remaining cheese.
  5. Top with pepperoni slices and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until cheese is bubbly and crust is crisp.
  7. Let the pie cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
