Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by bringing 4 cups of water to a rolling boil in a medium-sized pot.
  2. Add 1 cup of dried hibiscus petals and 1-2 thinly sliced fresh ginger pieces to the boiling water. Cover and let steep for 15 to 20 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and gradually stir in your choice of sweetener to taste.
  4. Using a fine mesh strainer, carefully pour the tea into a pitcher to separate the liquid from the hibiscus petals and ginger slices.
  5. Let the strained tea cool to room temperature before transferring it to the refrigerator.
  6. Once chilled, fill glasses with ice and add lime wheels before pouring the iced tea over the ice.
