Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare your large, oven-safe skillet.
  2. Melt the butter in the skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Sauté the diced yellow onion for 2-3 minutes until fragrant and translucent.
  4. Add the shredded green cabbage and sea salt, cooking for 5-6 minutes until tender.
  5. Mix in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  6. Reduce the heat to medium, stir in the hash browns and 1½ cups of shredded cheddar cheese.
  7. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of cheddar on top and return to the oven for 4-5 minutes.
  9. Let the dish rest for 5 minutes, then garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
