Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine 1 cup of warm milk, 2 teaspoons of active dry yeast, and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Allow this mixture to sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 3 cups of all-purpose flour and 1 teaspoon of salt. Make a well in the center, then pour in the yeast mixture, 4 tablespoons of melted butter, and 2 cloves of minced garlic. Form a soft dough.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm area for about 1 hour.
- Punch the dough down, transfer to a floured surface, and divide into 12 equal pieces. Roll each into a smooth ball and arrange on a baking sheet. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Keep an eye on them to avoid overbaking.
- Melt an additional 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter and mix in 2 cloves of minced garlic. Brush the hot garlic butter over the baked rolls and sprinkle with parsley if desired.
