Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Combine melted unsalted butter and dark brown sugar in a large mixing bowl and cream together until smooth and glossy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time and the vanilla or almond extract. Beat until well combined and fluffy.
  4. Mix the all-purpose flour, salt, and espresso powder into the wet ingredients. Fold gently.
  5. Fold in 3/4 cup of the toffee pieces and 3/4 cup of the chocolate chips, reserving some for topping.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Sprinkle reserved toffee and chocolate chips on top.
  7. Bake for about 28 minutes, until the edges are golden brown and the center is slightly wobbly.
  8. Cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then lift out using parchment paper to cool completely on a wire rack.
