- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Combine melted unsalted butter and dark brown sugar in a large mixing bowl and cream together until smooth and glossy.
- Add eggs one at a time and the vanilla or almond extract. Beat until well combined and fluffy.
- Mix the all-purpose flour, salt, and espresso powder into the wet ingredients. Fold gently.
- Fold in 3/4 cup of the toffee pieces and 3/4 cup of the chocolate chips, reserving some for topping.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Sprinkle reserved toffee and chocolate chips on top.
- Bake for about 28 minutes, until the edges are golden brown and the center is slightly wobbly.
- Cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then lift out using parchment paper to cool completely on a wire rack.
