Step-by-Step Instructions for Creamy Garlic Shrimp
  1. In a medium bowl, toss the large shrimp with paprika, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated. Set aside.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering (about 2 minutes). Add the seasoned shrimp in a single layer, cooking for 2-3 minutes per side until opaque and slightly golden. Transfer the shrimp to a plate and keep warm.
  3. In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium and melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter. Add 4 minced garlic cloves and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in 1/2 cup of chicken broth (or white wine) and bring to a simmer for about 2 minutes. Stir in 1 cup of heavy cream and mix thoroughly.
  5. Add 1/2 cup of freshly grated Parmesan cheese, 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning, and 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the sauce. Stir well and let simmer for 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  6. Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet, gently stirring to coat. Let simmer on low for an additional 2 minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
