Crust Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, cream together cold, unsalted butter and brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy. Gradually add all-purpose flour, mixing until crumbly. Grease a baking pan and press the dough evenly into the bottom.
- Place the baking pan in the preheated oven and bake the crust for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly.
Caramel Layer
- In a saucepan over medium-low heat, warm your caramel sauce, stirring constantly. Once it’s smooth, spread the caramel over the baked crust.
- Sprinkle toasted pecans generously across the caramel layer.
Chocolate Topping
- Melt chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl until smooth. Pour and spread the melted chocolate over the caramel and pecan layer.
Cooling
- Allow the bars to cool completely at room temperature for about 1-2 hours or place them in the refrigerator for quicker results.

Notes
Chill the dough for a flaky crust. Stir the caramel sauce continuously while heating. Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting for clean squares.
