Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the apple filling: Peel and dice 2-3 apples. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the apples, 1-2 tablespoons of brown sugar, and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon. Sauté for 6-8 minutes until soft and syrupy. Stir in a splash of vanilla extract and remove from heat.
  2. Assemble the quesadilla: Lay a flour tortilla flat. Spoon the apple filling onto one half. Optionally, spread cream cheese or yogurt. Fold the other half over the filling.
  3. Toast the quesadilla: Melt another tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Place the folded quesadilla in the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes until golden brown, then flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  4. Serve and garnish: Remove from skillet, let cool for a minute, and slice into wedges. Dust with powdered sugar if desired, and serve warm.
