  • 1 teaspoon Paprika cayenne offers a spicier alternative
  • a pinch Ground Black Pepper optional, depending on your spice tolerance
Dough
  • 1 tube Crescent Roll Dough consider puff pastry for a flakier texture
  • 1 large Egg used for an egg wash; olive oil provides an egg-free alternative
  • 1 tablespoon Milk any milk type works—dairy or non-dairy
Decoration
  • as needed Mini Candy Eyeballs alternatively, chocolate chips or olives can be used

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine all filling ingredients and mix until smooth.
  3. Slice jalapeños in half and fill with the creamy cheese mixture.
  4. Roll out the crescent roll dough and cut into strips about ½ inch wide.
  5. Wrap the dough strips around the stuffed jalapeños, leaving gaps for eyes.
  6. Whisk egg and milk together, then brush over the wrapped jalapeños.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and the jalapeños are tender.
  8. Add mini candy eyeballs to the top of each mummy while still warm.
  9. Serve warm with dipping sauces like ranch or salsa.
