  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or avocado oil
  • 1/4 cup lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 tablespoon honey or agave syrup
  • 1/4 cup tequila good-quality like Margaritaville Gold
  • 2 cloves garlic fresh minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt or sea salt
For Garnishing
  • 1/4 cup cilantro fresh, optional

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • Grill
  • Skillet
  • Baking Sheet
  • Air Fryer

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, lime juice, honey, tequila, minced garlic, and salt. Whisk until blended. Add shrimp, coat in marinade, cover, and marinate for 30 minutes in the fridge, flipping halfway.
  2. Choose your cooking method: soak wooden skewers in water for grilling, preheat oven to 375°F for baking, or have a skillet ready for sautéing.
  3. For grilling, thread shrimp onto pre-soaked skewers. Grill over medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes on each side until pink and opaque.
  4. For baking, spread shrimp on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes until pink and firm.
  5. To sauté, pour shrimp and marinade into a hot skillet on medium-high heat. Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. For air frying, place shrimp in the air fryer in a single layer, set the temperature to 390°F, and cook for 8-10 minutes.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with cilantro, and pair with rice or tortillas.
