Step-by-Step Instructions

  3. In a mixing bowl, beat softened butter with 1 cup of granulated sugar until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add almond or vanilla extract and eggs one at a time, beating until fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Reduce the mixer speed and mix in flour and salt until just combined without overmixing.
  6. Spread the batter evenly over the cranberry layer in the pie plate, smoothing the surface.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
