Preparation Steps
- In a medium saucepan, combine approximately 2 cups of fresh or frozen cherries with 1 cup of water and bring to a vigorous boil over high heat for about 5 minutes.
- Carefully strain the cherry mixture through a fine mesh sieve to extract the syrup, pressing down to release all juices.
- In a serving glass, slice and juice a fresh lemon, aiming for approximately 2 tablespoons of lemon juice.
- Add the strained cherry syrup to the lemon juice, followed by 2 tablespoons of maple syrup, and stir well.
- Fill the glass with ice cubes and pour in 1 cup of water, stirring gently to blend.
- Garnish with a few whole fresh cherries and serve immediately.
