  • 2 cups fresh or frozen cherries giving natural sweetness
  • 1 cup water needed to boil down the cherries
For the Lemonade
  • 1 whole lemon for approximately 2 tablespoons of juice
  • 1 cup cherry syrup homemade or store-bought
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup for sweetness

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine approximately 2 cups of fresh or frozen cherries with 1 cup of water and bring to a vigorous boil over high heat for about 5 minutes.
  2. Carefully strain the cherry mixture through a fine mesh sieve to extract the syrup, pressing down to release all juices.
  3. In a serving glass, slice and juice a fresh lemon, aiming for approximately 2 tablespoons of lemon juice.
  4. Add the strained cherry syrup to the lemon juice, followed by 2 tablespoons of maple syrup, and stir well.
  5. Fill the glass with ice cubes and pour in 1 cup of water, stirring gently to blend.
  6. Garnish with a few whole fresh cherries and serve immediately.
