Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch square baking pan.
- Spread thawed hash brown potatoes evenly into the baking pan, pressing down slightly.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the pork sausage and diced onion until browned and translucent, about 10 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well blended.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layer of hash browns and sprinkle half of the cheddar cheese on top.
- Spread the cooked sausage and onion mixture over the cheese layer and top with remaining cheese.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the top is crispy.
