Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch cake pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, mix chocolate cake mix, pudding mix, sour cream, oil, milk, eggs, vanilla, and salt until smooth (2-3 minutes). Pour into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 28-32 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool in the pan for 30 minutes.
- Poke holes in the cooled cake with a wooden spoon handle, about 1 inch apart.
- Whisk pudding mix with required milk until thick, then pour over the cake to fill the holes. Let it absorb for 10-15 minutes.
- Mix heavy cream, powdered sugar, and chocolate pudding to make frosting. Whip until soft peaks form. Frost the cake.
- Sprinkle crushed Oreo cookies over the frosted cake to mimic 'dirt'.
- Decorate with Milano cookies as gravestones using black gel icing. Position them at various angles.
- Add ghost Peeps and candy pumpkins for decoration. Optionally, sprinkle Halloween sprinkles around.
- Slice the cake into 12 portions and serve on festive plates.

Notes
Use quality ingredients for best flavor and refrigerate the cake for a few hours after frosting for optimal texture. Slice and serve soon after decorating.
