Step-by-Step Instructions for Sweet & Spicy Blueberry Jalapeno Jelly
- Rinse 4 cups of fresh blueberries under cool running water and dry in a colander.
- In a food processor, combine the rinsed blueberries and finely chopped jalapenos and pulse until slightly chunky.
- Transfer the mixture into a large pot, add 1 cup of vinegar and one package of Sure-Jell, and stir well.
- Bring the mixture to a full rolling boil and cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually stir in 5 cups of sugar and return to boil for another minute.
- Remove from heat and skim off any foam from the top of the jelly.
- Ladle the hot jelly into sterilized jars, leaving a 1/4 inch headspace.
- Wipe the rims of the jars, place sterilized lids, and screw the metal bands until fingertip-tight.
- Process the jars in a boiling water bath for 10 minutes.
- Allow jars to cool for 24 hours without disturbance.
