Step-by-Step Instructions for Sweet & Spicy Blueberry Jalapeno Jelly
  1. Rinse 4 cups of fresh blueberries under cool running water and dry in a colander.
  2. In a food processor, combine the rinsed blueberries and finely chopped jalapenos and pulse until slightly chunky.
  3. Transfer the mixture into a large pot, add 1 cup of vinegar and one package of Sure-Jell, and stir well.
  4. Bring the mixture to a full rolling boil and cook for 1 minute.
  5. Gradually stir in 5 cups of sugar and return to boil for another minute.
  6. Remove from heat and skim off any foam from the top of the jelly.
  7. Ladle the hot jelly into sterilized jars, leaving a 1/4 inch headspace.
  8. Wipe the rims of the jars, place sterilized lids, and screw the metal bands until fingertip-tight.
  9. Process the jars in a boiling water bath for 10 minutes.
  10. Allow jars to cool for 24 hours without disturbance.
