- Prepare the Cardamom Filling by grinding fresh cardamom seeds. Combine the ground cardamom with softened butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and vanilla sugar until smooth.
- Make the Dough by dissolving the yeast in lukewarm milk. Add the ground cardamom, both types of sugar, and salt. Gradually add flour to form a soft dough, knead for about 10 minutes until elastic.
- Shape the Dough by rolling it into a square, spreading the cardamom filling on it. Cut into 20 strips, twist each strip, and form knots.
- First Rise: Cover with a towel and let rise at room temperature for 1 to 3 hours until doubled in size.
- Preheat Oven to 200°C (390°F). Prepare an egg wash and brush it on the tops of the buns for a golden finish.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown, ensuring they remain soft and moist inside.
- For the Deco Finish, brush the baked buns with melted butter and dip the tops into the cardamom sugar mixture while warm.
