Step-by-Step Instructions for Juicy Avocado Burgers with Bacon and Cheddar
  1. Begin by heating a cast-iron skillet over medium heat, and drizzle in a tablespoon of olive oil. Allow the oil to heat for about 2 minutes until it shimmers slightly.
  2. Carefully place your beef patties in the skillet and cook for 4-6 minutes on the first side. Flip them when the edges start to brown.
  3. In the last 1-2 minutes of cooking, add a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty and cover the skillet with a lid to melt the cheese.
  4. While the burgers finish cooking, mash the ripe avocados with lemon juice, garlic powder, and salt until well combined.
  5. Spread your favorite condiment on the bottom half of a toasted brioche bun. Layer with lettuce, beef patty with melted cheese, red onions, bacon, and avocado mash before adding the top bun.
  6. Serve the juicy avocado burgers on a plate with optional sides like sweet potato fries or a fresh salad.
